1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern membership with, and access to, High Society Sandton (“High Society,” “we,” “us,” “our”) and its facilities, services, and events.
By applying for membership, entering our premises, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not enter or use our facilities.
2. Membership
- Members Only: High Society is a private, members-only club. Access is granted solely to registered members in good standing.
- Non-transferable: Membership is personal and cannot be transferred or shared.
- Age Restriction: Members must be 21 years or older. Proof of age is required upon registration and may be requested at any time.
- Right of Admission Reserved: High Society reserves the right to refuse or revoke membership or entry at its sole discretion, without obligation to provide reasons.
3. Rules of Conduct
All members and guests must comply with the following rules:
- Own Risk – Anyone entering the premises does so entirely at their own risk.
- Liability Disclaimer – The owners, employees, contractors, and agents of High Society will not be held liable for any injury, death, damage to, destruction of, or loss of property (including vehicles) caused by ordinary or gross negligence, theft, or any other cause whatsoever.
- No Outside Products – Only products provided by High Society may be consumed on the premises.
- No Outside Food or Drink – No external food or beverages may be brought into the members’ lounge.
- No Unauthorised Access – Only authorised areas may be accessed; members must not enter staff-only or restricted areas.
- No Shisha Pipes – The use of shisha/hookah pipes is strictly prohibited.
- No Photography Without Permission – Cameras, photography, and video recording are prohibited unless authorised by management in writing.
- Responsible Conduct – Members must behave responsibly, respectfully, and in a manner that does not disrupt the enjoyment or safety of others.
- Responsible Consumption – High Society practices responsible consumption in accordance with South African laws regarding cannabis use and alcohol service. Members may be refused service if management deems further consumption unsafe or unlawful.
4. Legal Compliance & Cannabis Use
- All activities within High Society comply with applicable South African laws on cannabis possession, use, and private consumption.
- Members must not engage in illegal activities on the premises.
- Consumption of cannabis is for private use only and must take place within designated areas of the club.
- It is illegal to purchase cannabis for resale or to provide it to non-members or minors.
5. Health & Safety
- Members are responsible for their own health and wellbeing when consuming cannabis or other products.
- Members must not operate vehicles or machinery under the influence of cannabis or alcohol.
- Any unsafe, disruptive, or aggressive behaviour will result in immediate removal and possible membership termination.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- High Society, its owners, employees, contractors, and agents accept no responsibility for loss, injury, or damages suffered on the premises or arising from participation in any activity.
- This limitation applies to all claims, whether caused by negligence, breach of contract, or otherwise.
7. Termination of Membership
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate membership immediately if:
- You breach these Terms;
- You engage in illegal or unsafe conduct;
- Your actions harm the reputation, safety, or integrity of High Society.
Membership fees will not be refunded upon termination due to breach of these Terms.
8. Right of Admission
We reserve the right of admission to the premises, events, and services at all times, without obligation to provide reasons.
9. Changes to Terms
High Society may update or amend these Terms at any time. The most recent version will be posted on our website and available upon request.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of South Africa.
